WestPointAOG.org | 800.BE A.GRAD 13 Dear Proud Parent, On behalf of the West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG), congratulations on your son/daughter’s acceptance to the USMA. Your cadet is on the path to joining the ranks of the prestigious Long Gray Line and continuing the Academy’s tradition of leadership and service. As the Parent Giving Officer at WPAOG, I work very closely with the USMA Parent Communications Liaison, Debra Dalton, on communications with Parents Club members. My role is to let you know about the many ways in which WPAOG supports current cadets and their families and to help facilitate participation in our various programs. WPAOG’s mission is to serve West Point and its graduates. Part of that service is to cadets and parents, as part of our extended family. WPAOG is located at West Point in the Herbert Alumni Center building, just down from Michie Stadium. We invite you to join us here for some of the great activities we host for families. Most of our activities revolve around milestone events that take place throughout the year, such as the Pre-Reception Day (R-Day) Ice Cream Social, R-Day, A-Day, Army football games, Family Weekend, Plebe-Parent Weekend, and graduation. Keeping you informed is a priority for WPAOG. We have several resources for keeping you aware of what is happening at the Academy and in the lives of cadets and alumni. This Parent Handbook is a great resource to help you better understand the Academy and to plan for the upcoming year. WPAOG’s Parent Resources page h as information about Academy events and nearly 80 West Point Parents Clubs. WPAOG, on behalf of the Academy, raises private funds to support Margin of Excellence programs that offer valuable opportunities to cadets beyond what is made possible by the federal government. I will help you become better acquainted with ways to support these programs that often provide life-changing experiences for our future young leaders. The West Point Parents Fund supports the many programs that can enrich your cadet’s experience. Also, Superintendent’s Circle members receive benefits such as preferential seating at graduation, parades, and events. Benefits begin with annual support for the West Point Parents Fund at the $2,500 level. Get involved now and consider making a gift today. Please remember to fill out the Parent Data Form so that we can better serve you throughout your family’s 47-month West Point experience and beyond!
